About Me

Hi my names Cindy. I’m a retired nurse, a mother, a wife and a grandmother. I love to go camping (let me clarify, I love to go RV glamping), reading, cooking and gardening. However, my passion lies in fiber crafts, especially, crocheting and circular machine knitting.

When I retired and I needed something to keep me busy and out of trouble (I’m an online shopper and Amazon junkie😉). I decided I needed something to keep me occupied. I decided to start a blog and share my adventures with circular machine knitting with my family and friends.

Like the rest of the population I worked all my life and when I turned 65 I thought now I can retire. That was great for about the first couple of months. Then I started asking myself, now what? I always loved crafts, so I started there. I started crocheting again and pulled out other crafting supplies. Then while scrolling on Pinterest I came across a picture of something called an Addi circular knitting machine. I was always intrigued with knitting but I always found hand knitting too slow for me. Looking back, I think the time frame of when I was trying to learn to knit was just not the right. time. Maybe I will try again now that I have more free time. However, the idea of being able to knit something and produce it fairly quickly seemed like a happy dream to me and the Addi Knitting Machine promised that.

The first place I checked to find it was Amazon. Sure enough it was listed. Actually there were two listed the Addi King, which is a 46 needle machine and a smaller model called the Addi Pro, which is a 22 needle machine. I wasn’t sure of the difference other than size or what could be made on either one. I did more research. I was also having difficulty with the idea of spending that much money on something I had never used and wasn’t even sure I would be able to get it to work. I kept reading more about them and kept talking about them and going back to Amazon to look at them. Finally my husband, being the sweetheart he is, encouraged me to buy them (I think he was just sick of hearing me talk about them😊). I didn’t need anymore encouragement. I placed an order. While I waited I joined a number of circular knitting machine groups on facebook and continued my research into using these machines.

It took approximately 3 weeks to receive them. I was so excited. The reason for the long wait? The Addi knitting products are made and housed in Germany. They are well made although I did have qualms about the fact they are made of plastic. My qualms were unfounded. They are great and work just as described. They not only do circular knitting but are able to do flat panel knitting as well. When I got them I put them together right away (actually just screwed the legs into the bottom of the machine) and dug out some yarn.

Today I’m hooked. I love my Addi Knitting machines. I use them constantly and they continue to produce quality items. Of course I have learned and improved much since receiving them. I know the learning will continue the longer I’m on this journey.
